How do I meditate?
Sit in a comfortable posture with your eyes closed, fingers from one hand locked into the other, legs crossed just like we sit normally, and focus on your normal breathing process going on. Once you start focusing on your natural breathing, you will slowly go into a meditative state when you no longer need to focus on the breathing and then you can focus on the experiences you have during meditation.
In the initial stages, you may experience a lot of thoughts while doing this process. Early on, this happens to everyone. What you have to do is develop a sense of awareness that you are getting a thought and try to shift your focus back onto your breath.
The more and more awareness you develop, the more cosmic energy you receive. It is a constant learning process and the final goal is to slowly get into a thoughtless state where you receive maximum energy. Remember that Rome was not built overnight. Practice is what makes allows for progress.

You can meditate anytime and anywhere. Just lock your fingers, cross your legs and close your eyes and meditate. For beginners, experts suggest picking a specific time every day to practice meditation. This way the mind will adjust to the rhythm of meditation.

How often and how long should I meditate each day?
You can meditate as long as you want, but the rule of thumb is to at least meditate your age. For example, if you are 30 years old, a minimum of 30 minutes of meditation is recommended per day. More meditation is always encouraged and will help you along your spiritual journey.

Why should I focus only on my breath during meditation?
Gautama Buddha spent 6 years of his life talking to several gurus and practicing their ways of yoga, pranayama, and meditation. Out of all the different methods he practiced, he found out that focusing on breathing is the easiest and most effective way to reach a meditative state. His method is termed Anapanasati. (Ana – Inhale, Pana – Exhale, Sati – together)

What kind of music should I use for meditation?
Any soothing/relaxing instrumental music will help you to get into a meditative state easily. There are no restrictions on what music you use. However, after choosing, try to stick to the same music every time you meditate. That way, your body, and mind get tuned to this music and the music can act as a trigger to facilitate entering a meditative state.
